Summary:
The Marketing & Business Development Manager plays a critical role in elevating Woods Oviatt Gilman’s visibility in the marketplace and deepening client relationships. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing and business development initiatives, with a hands-on focus on firm events, sponsorships, content creation, digital marketing, and attorney support. The Manager will partner with attorneys across all practice groups and offices, as well as with the Director of Marketing & Business Development, to drive engagement, thought leadership, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Attorney Support:
- Partner with attorneys on pitches, proposals, RFPs, and client presentations.
- Provide coaching and support for attorney visibility (speaking engagements, awards, media, and LinkedIn optimization).
- Conduct client and industry research to identify growth opportunities.
Event Planning & Execution:
- Take full ownership of firm events from concept to completion, including invitations, RSVPs, catering, vendor management, signage, and day-of logistics.
- Manage the firm’s internal calendar of events and attorney participation, ensuring strong visibility at client-facing and community events.
- Coordinate sponsorship deliverables and firm representation at conferences, industry gatherings, and client programs.
- Handle post-event communications, follow-up, and reporting to measure effectiveness and ROI.
- Work directly with attorneys and leadership to ensure events align with practice group goals and business development strategies.
Campaigns, content, & Digital Marketing:
- Develop and execute integrated campaigns and thought leadership initiatives.
- Draft, edit, and distribute newsletters, social media content, and website copy.
- Enhance the firm’s digital presence with SEO-informed updates to attorney bios and firm pages.
- Schedule, monitor, and track engagement on firm social media accounts.
Collaboration & Strategic Alignment:
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys, practice groups, leadership, and external vendors.
- Track and report on marketing performance metrics to inform future strategies.
- Maintain consistency of brand messaging across all platforms and initiatives.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required.
- 4-5 years of experience in marketing or business development, preferably in a professional services or law firm environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with working knowledge of digital platforms (WordPress, LinkedIn, Constant Contact, Canva, etc.).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Hands-on experience in event planning, vendor management, and execution.
- Strategic thinker with keen attention to detail and high standards for execution.
Work Environment:
Work primarily in a climate-controlled indoor office environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. This role operates in an office environment with rare exposure to airborne dust, moderate noise levels, and seasonal environmental conditions for heating/cooling.

The compensation range for this position is $80,000- $100,000 annually, representing our good faith and reasonable estimate of the potential compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, skill set, and office location.
