United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring an Intern, Development to join our team. As an Intern, Development you will collaborate closely with the fundraising team to provide administrative support as well as assist in the planning and preparation of special annual events such as food drives, book and toy drives, and giving community related events. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess strong communication skills.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Campaigns
- Collaborate with fundraisers to develop and execute volunteer recruitment and training
- Support the campaign team to successfully execute individual and group solicitations
- Support in the planning and preparation of United Way Miami events
- Responsible for developing campaign and donor communications as appropriate
- Manage a limited portfolio to include goal setting, as well as donor stewardship and cultivation
- Administrative Support
- Provide comprehensive administrative support related to donor relations, including drafting correspondence, scheduling meetings, and conducting research as needed
- Utilize Andar software to track donor engagement and activities effectively, and to properly document donor engagement, stewardship and cultivation
- Data Management
- Maintain data quality and integrity through the utilization of United Way’s customer relationship management tool, Andar, maintain data quality and integrity.
- Donor Communication
- Respond promptly to donor inquiries via phone and email
Requirements
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or donor relations.
Experience Requirements: Two to three years in nonprofit, donor relations/fundraising experience.
Technology Requirements: Experience with donor management software (e.g., Andar) is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools, including modern web browsers.
Other Essential Knowledge/Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Contacts: Internal. Communicate with all levels of the organization to exchange information, collect information, solve problems, negotiate solutions, and cultivate relationships.
External. Communicate with volunteers, donors/contributors, general public, vendors, and United Way agencies to exchange information, collect information, solve problems, negotiate solutions, and cultivate relationships.
