Compensation Range
Hourly: $23.20 - $26.90 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)L.J. Hart & Company underwrites municipal bonds to help local governments including school districts, counties, cities, and other entities borrow money on a tax-exempt basis to meet capital facilities and equipment needs. We are currently seeking a motivated, organized, and customer focused individual to assist and support bankers in this process.
About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to assist and support bankers in the underwriting of municipal bonds.
Essential Functions
Prepare correspondence, marketing information, and presentations for senior bankers
Manage documents for financing, record keeping, and other office administrative duties
Critically read and analyze legal documents
Assist in the drafting and editing of formal solicitations (for Request For Proposal’s) by state and local governments
Research and compile market data relating to prior or future transactions
Schedule calls and meetings among the team and interact with lawyers, accountants, paying agents, verification agents, rating agencies, and insurers to coordinate the deal process
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Basic knowledge of the financial services industry, including knowledge of best practices
Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong communication and professional presence with clients required
Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a Business Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
1+ year of financial services, public finance, and/or municipal bond work experience required
