Summary Description Of Position

Monitors physical and functional condition of building systems. Initiates work order and project requests utilizing government software program.  Coordinates repairs and necessary projects. 

  • Serves as point of contact for all emergencies associated with the facilities.
  • Completes Installation Status Report (ISR) assessments for each facility. 
  • Attends Real Property Management Board meetings.
  • Ensures arms vaults and other security equipment are functioning properly.  
  • Prepares, reviews, and submits energy efficiency and sustainable practices/recommendations.
  • Monitors and validates utility meter readings.
  • Promotes energy conservation and awareness.
  • Establishes support priorities to meet appropriate goals and objectives sustaining and maintaining environmental compliance at all facilities.
  • Reviews the management and technical aspects of assigned projects.
  • Monitors projects to ensure that contractors comply with plans, specifications, and codes.
  • Provides input for design reviews on minor/major construction, renovation, and repair projects.
  • Informs the government on matters pertaining to assigned projects (e.g. current status, projected project/packet completion date, cost estimates outstanding issues, and recommended mitigation strategies), or when significant changes occur
  • Reviews in-house scopes of work, and technical specifications for construction and repair work and makes recommendations to ensure compliance with industry standards commensurate with those performed in the private sector.

  • Provides comprehensive technical advice to the government and make recommendations IAW industry standards.
  • Provides technical evaluation for research, development, conceptual design, evaluation, and quality assurance during construction, inspection, production, application, standardization, testing, or operation of engineering facilities, structures, systems, processes, equipment, devices, or materials.
  • Coordinates meetings for all projects from inception to completion.
  • Facilitates planning, programming, and execution of facility SRM, Base Operations Support Services, as well as improving the quality of products for supported units in projects.

 Minimum Requirements And Qualifications

  • Must meet one of the following qualifications:
    • A Bachelor’s degree directly related to the type of work of the position;
    • Technical Certification and four years’ experience directly related to the type of work of the position;
    • Eight years’ experience directly related to the type of work of the position.
  • Preference will be given to those individuals with understanding and experience with U.S. Army Reserve Centers and administrative hierarchy within.
  • Must possess knowledge in facility maintenance and management, HVAC systems, energy management, OSHA requirements, basic contract and financial management, and basic environmental requirements. 
  • Must have familiarity with the Microsoft Suite.
  • Must receive favorable National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI), in accordance with AR 380-67, to access to military facilities
  • Must be a U.S Citizen 
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening 
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Prior Military experience is a plus

Physical Requirements And Environmental Conditions

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Work will require the regular utilization of hand and finger dexterity, as well as close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.  Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, turning, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that, due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Work is generally conducted in an inside environment, but may also involve some outside work, depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, with low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
