SUMMARY:
The Project Manager is a grant funded position to support the day to day work of the Fields Corner Crossroads Collaborative. Grant funding comes from Boston Children’s Hospital (Children’s Health Equity Initiative, CHEq) and Atrius Health Equity Foundation (Youth as Health Care Change Agents.) The Crossroads Project Manger will support the implementation of the CHEq and Atrius workplans, working in partnership with the individual and organizational members of Crossroads. The Crossroads Collaborative aims to develop and implement a plan that unites Fields Corner’s diverse communities through 1) policies, systems and environmental changes that will support improved health outcomes for residents, especially children (CHEq) and 2) the engagement and development of youth and young adults as leaders in community health improvement activities and strategies (Atrius) that has a health focus on substance use disorders and mental health
The Project Manager plays a key role in supporting the Crossroads Youth Council and Youth Board, overseeing programs aligned with the Collaborative’s goals under the Youth As Change Makers initiative and the Child Health Equity (CHEq)grant. This position is responsible for coordinating youth programming, managing timelines, tracking outcomes, and maintaining accurate records of program activities. The Project Manager will supervise and provide guidance to the Crossroads Youth Coordinator and work closely with the Project Director, collaborative partners, and consultants to align all activities with the broader workplans. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of youth development and social justice issues, as well as experience in program coordination and facilitation.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Youth Board & Youth Council
The Crossroads Youth Board and Youth Council anchors the collaborative's efforts to increase youth leadership and empowerment opportunities in the Neighborhood, the Project Manager will support the Project Director to coordinate Youth Board and Youth Council activities.
The Project Manager will coordinate meetings of Youth Council core partners’ youth coordinators to plan activities outlined in the AHEF and CHeQ workplans.
The Project Manager will work closely with the Youth Coordinator and Project Manager with recruitment and onboarding of Crossroads Youth Board and Youth Council positions.
The Project Manager will attend Crossroads Youth Board and Youth Council meetings, as needed, to ensure day-to-day activities align with grant objectives, maintain timelines, and identify areas to build capacity through available funding.
The Project Manager will work closely with the Director and Consultant(s) with communication strategies. Informing best practices and engagement strategies for young people. Supervise program planning and aligning activities with overall workplan. Pre-implementation check-ins with YC to ensure the program aligns with workplan objectives.
Participatory Budget
The Project Manager will work closely with the Director, participatory budget consultant, and core partners to facilitate the design and implementation of the annual Young Leaders Symposium and youth team projects, including Overseeing the $100,000 Participatory Budget in partnership with the Director, supporting redesign, evaluation.
Evaluation & Reporting
The Project Manager will work with the Director to ensure program objectives align with overall workplan objectives. Work with the Team to consider evaluation as a built in strategy (feedback forms, other creative strategies).
Supervision
The Project Manager will work with the Youth Coordinator and Director to develop clear and measurable learning objectives at pre-implementation check-ins. Work with the Director to ensure program objectives align with overall workplan objectives. The Project Manager will ensure that the Youth Coordinator uploads all sign-in sheets, detailed debrief/feedback notes, photos, and other documents to the appropriate folder in the Crossroads Drive.
The Project Manager will work with the Director to support the Youth Coordinator to provide leadership, guidance, and training for Youth Council members and interns in collaboration via 1:1 check-ins.
Meetings
The Youth Development subcommittee serves as a space to engage core partners in youth development activities outlined in the AHEF and CHeq workplans and as they arise in the collaborative. The Project Manager will be responsible for the facilitation and accompanying responsibilities for conducting the meeting which occurs monthly.
The Project Manager will work with the Project Director to develop monthly agendas for Youth Development Subcommittee meetings.
The Project Manager will ensure detailed notes are taken and organized on the Crossroads Drive.
The Project Manager will coordinate in person meetings needed.
The Project Manager will be the designated note taker for bi-monthly Crossroads Leadership meetings and quarterly strategic
Participate in learning sessions coordinated by Boston Children’s Hospital Health Equity and Atrius Health Equity Foundation team–bring to meetings any updates from the YC.
Additional
Assist in FCCC regular programming and administrative tasks as needed in collaboration with the Director.
Works with the Director in researching and drafting proposals for donors
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
- At least 5 years of facilitation and/or coalition coordination experience
- Demonstrated success leading a project implementation initiative with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience coordinating community meetings, gatherings
- Knowledge of Boston’s working class and communities of color
- Demonstrated commitment to racial and economic justice
- Is a self-starter, independent worker and clear communicator
- Bilingual Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole and/or Vietnamese a plus
Software/Hardware: Must be proficient and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
