Responsibilities:

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business needs and drive alignment.
  • Own and execute the Workday configuration strategy in collaboration with the Director of HR Technology.
  • Lead design sessions and regular meetings with business partners to gather input and guide system enhancements.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable solutions, developing proof of concepts and recommending optimized end-to-end processes.
  • Configure Workday HCM modules and ensure thorough documentation of all functional and technical requirements.
  • Monitor Workday’s product roadmap and contribute strategic insights to shape SCP’s future system direction.
  • Engage actively in the Workday Community to stay ahead of trends and champion SCP’s interests and priorities.

Workday HCM Administration

  • Administer and maintain Workday HCM Core modules, including talent acquisition, employee records, organizational structures, position management, performance management, learning, and recruiting.
  • Oversee onboarding and workforce management processes within Workday, ensuring smooth transitions for new hires and continuous alignment of workforce strategies.
  • Ensure the integrity of employee data within Workday by configuring, validating, and troubleshooting data flows across HR processes.
  • Manage the configuration of core HR business processes (e.g., hires, terminations, promotions, transfers) ensuring workflows align with company policies and practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments (Payroll, IT, Finance) to ensure smooth system functionality and efficient processes across teams.

System Configuration & Optimization:

  • Configure and optimize Workday HCM modules to support evolving business needs, ensuring that the system is flexible and scalable.
  • Work with HR leadership to design and implement system configurations that support HR best practices while optimizing workflows and user experience.
  • Manage and monitor system upgrades, enhancements, and releases, ensuring that all functionality is working as expected and delivering improvements to end users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and discrepancies related to HR data, processes, and workflows, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

System Maintenance & Reporting:

  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards within Workday to provide actionable insights to HR and business leaders on key HR metrics (headcount, turnover, employee demographics, performance, etc.).
  • Conduct regular audits of employee data in Workday to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Manage data governance, ensuring data integrity and security are maintained within Workday’s core HR functionalities.
  • Provide support for reporting and analytics, ensuring that HR metrics are consistently tracked and delivered to relevant stakeholders.

Training & User Support:

  • Provide ongoing training and support to HR staff and end-users on how to effectively use Workday HCM modules.
  • Create user guides, documentation, and training materials to help HR users navigate system processes and updates.
  • Support end-user adoption by addressing questions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal utilization of Workday features.

Change Management & Process Improvement:

  • Support change management initiatives by driving communication and training during system updates, upgrades, and new module implementations.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements within Workday HCM, recommending and implementing solutions to enhance system performance, reduce manual processes, and improve user experience.
  • Lead and participate in testing activities for system enhancements, ensuring new functionalities are effectively implemented without impacting ongoing operations.

Compliance & Security:

  • Ensure that Workday HCM is compliant with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Monitor security settings within Workday to ensure that sensitive HR data is protected and access is appropriately controlled.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required in Human Resources, Information Technology or Business Administration
  • Master’s degree, preferred
  • 3+ years of experience administering and configuring Workday HCM, with a strong understanding of core HR processes and modules (e.g., employee records, position management, performance management, recruiting, learning, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Workday security configurations, user access management, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide training and support to end-users across HR and other business functions.
  • Experience with Workday Reporting, including advanced reporting and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management best practices.
  • Proven experience in configuring and optimizing Workday HCM Core business processes and workflows, including talent acquisition, performance management, onboarding, learning, and workforce management.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday security configurations, user access management, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues quickly.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide training and support to end-users across HR and other business functions.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain system integrity and ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team, driving change and system improvements.
  • Workday HCM Certification (Core or related certifications), preferred
