Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service and communication at all times with members and guests.
- Setup and break down bar area for service and special events.
- Deliver food and beverage items to dining table in an accurate and efficient manner and provide explanations to guest, according to company standards.
- Keep tickets and expediting area organized and orderly.
- Continuously clean bar and dining areas by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles.
- Complete opening/closing duties according to procedures.
- Assist entire food and beverage team as needed with taking orders, preparing beverages, serving guests, entering orders to POS, etc.
- Knowledge of menu items and cocktail recipes to answer guest questions or prepare orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
- Follow proper food handling procedures per Riverside County Food Handler Cert.
- Support a safe working environment at all times.
- Input all beverage orders into Jonas for member accounts to be charged.
- Report to work as scheduled, in uniform, clocked in, and ready to be in position.
- Follow Club policies and standard operating procedures.
- Communicate with F&B management to ensure member satisfaction.
- Greet all members formally by using their surname.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain valid California Food Handler Certification (FHC) or obtain it within the timeframes required by California law. Food Handler Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in food and beverage, preferably at a fast paced, high-end restaurant, club, or resort.
- Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with members, guests, and coworkers.
- Must be able to remain on feet standing and walking for long periods of time, up to 8 hours. As well as sit, squat, reach, bend, stoop, and twist.
- Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs.
- Must be able to work outdoors, exposure to various weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind and rain.
- Must be outgoing, friendly, courteous, and patient.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform policies.
- Must be familiar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Must learn member names and use them in greeting members.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. via food or beverage trays or required equipment needed to perform specific job duties.
- Safely transport items to and from kitchen on a slick uneven surface.
- Lift and carry multiple plates from kitchen to dining room.
- Safely move about in all areas of the restaurant.
- Frequently bend, stoop, reach, lift, carry, and wipe.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
