Objective(s):
The machine operator is responsible for running a variety of machines while hitting or exceeding the hourly rate. There is an expectation to make quality goods.
Essential Functions:

- Read and comprehend written process procedures, S/P/C, instructions and problem-solving guidelines.
- Identify (by raw material number and part number) the correct materials to be processed to manufacture quality products.
- Be able to stand continuously and move from station to station.
- Record and maintain accurate production records.
- Operate and interpret manual and computerized gauges to verify quality products are being produced.
- Able to work in extreme temperatures.
- Able to tolerate environmental variables normally.
- Build packing with appropriate tools, and pack and unpack containers to produce a quality product.
- Ability to use computers to complete paperwork and quality standards.
- Must be willing and able to train new and transfer employees.
- Must act professionally and respectfully, as they are responsible for identifying defective pieces and effectively conveying quality information to the operator.
- Must be willing and able to work short notice overtime, both in and over.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Team Lead, and Management.
- Must be willing and able to work around multiple types of motors, conveyers and loud machinery.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. While performing duties on the job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the manufacturing environment and job sites can be loud. The manufacturing work environment is not temperature controlled, and the employee may be exposed to high heated work conditions.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands or arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 100 pounds and routinely lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required by this job including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel:
No travel is expected for this position.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience working with and operating manufacturing machinery is a plus

- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively.
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail; concentration.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly and indirectly with other staff members. Act as a member of the team.
- Able to follow instructions and production requirements.
- Able to act quickly when a problem arises; solve problems and make decisions as needed.
- The capacity to identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
- Basic computer skills and experience, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and additional ERP systems experience is a plus.
