Description
The Director of Service will be responsible for setting up a new repair station in Sarasota, Florida (SRQ) in advance of a new Pilatus Sales and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility scheduled for completion in 2027. Initial set-up will occur in a rental hangar at the Sarasota airport. Once construction of the new facility is complete, the Director will oversee MRO operations at the new state-of-the-art complex. This position will report to and work closely with the Vice President of Aircraft Service.
On January 1, 2026, Skytech, Inc., a Pilatus subsidiary since 2022, will merge with Pilatus Business Aircraft, Ltd, to become one company: Pilatus Aircraft USA, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pilatus Aircraft, Ltd.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and high-quality MRO service
- Lead and manage the Service Department team, including team leaders, technicians, maintenance managers, and aircraft detailers
- Serve as the primary contact for Pilatus technical support and coordinate with other Pilatus service departments
- Oversee shop scheduling, workflow, and load tracking to maximize efficiency
- Communicate proactively with customers about upcoming maintenance and service needs
- Generate, present, and follow up on service and modification quotes
- Review and approve all shop work order estimates
- Coordinate aircraft status updates with team leaders and the parts department; keep owners informed
- Support unscheduled work as needed based on shop load
- Drive Service Department profitability
- Manage financial reporting with the Accounting Manager and Business Support
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Service to develop annual forecasts and budgets, including equipment and staffing plans
- Monitor job time expenditures and compare billed versus estimated time
- Ensure compliance with FAA and Pilatus group standards
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding service department staff
- Authorize overtime when necessary
- Assist the Business Administrator with billing, warranty submissions, and appeals of denied claims
- Maintain professional and effective communication with management, staff, and coworkers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications
- Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate; Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or industry focus or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum five-years of experience in an FAA-certified Part 145 Repair Station with strong knowledge of regulations and procedures
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor with high discretion and confidentiality
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods and work at a computer
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time
- Up to 25-30% of travel to other company locations required

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $165,000 per year depending on experience. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Relocation incentive may be authorized.
