The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a part time Teaching Artist Program Coordinator to organize and coordinate the Teaching Artist Program activities in The Career Center, including scheduling events, trainings and additional programming focused on the continuing education of teaching artists. Strategize with Career Center leadership to identify collaborators and develop relationships with arts education stakeholders, school districts, and arts organizations.
This is currently a part time temporary hybrid position with the requirement of working 1 day per week in the Los Angeles office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Teaching Artist Program Coordinator will assist with the Teaching Artist Program application process; scheduling and taking part in applicant interviews, as needed, to form diverse and resilient cohort. This position is responsible for scheduling and accompanying cohort for observational site visits. The Teaching Artist Program Coordinator will attend three onsite Saturday trainings at The Fund, helping to set up the space and secure refreshments and attend two virtual Saturday trainings via Zoom. The Teaching Artist Program Coordinator shall provide administrative support, including photocopying, tracking payments for lesson plan coaches and guest speakers, and organizing digital platform for homework assignments. This professional will collaborate with Career Center West Program Coordinator to arrange teaching site placements for cohort members. The Teaching Artist Program Coordinator shall meet with Teaching Artist Program coaches to set schedules for teaching site observation dates. This position is responsible for organizing, managing, and hosting Quarterly Exchanges, the Virtual Creative Classroom Symposium and Cohort Graduation which will include securing teaching artist panels, arts educator keynotes, and other industry-related guest speakers. This professional will communicate updates as needed with cohort members via email.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or commensurate work experience
- Familiarity with the arts education landscape and/or teaching artistry
- Experienced in events management, community engagement, and program coordination
- Candidate must be extremely organized and have excellent verbal/ written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail in both developing and maintaining digital filing systems
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams) required
- Experience with budgets and tracking expenses
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- May be required to flex schedule to enable working on some Saturdays and early evenings
- Some local travel may be required
PREFERRED QUALITIES
- Holds a higher education degree specifically in arts or education
- Candidate should be an intentional collaborator, community builder, and ongoing learner with an awareness of current trends in arts education

This is a part-time, temporary, non-exempt hourly position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s Western Region offices in Los Angeles.
