At Redpath, we continue to grow, and our M&A (Merger & Acquisition) Advisory team is looking for a full-time Manager with a background in M&A Tax. The position will serve an instrumental role in the transaction process by performing buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence and advising on tax structures.
Our M&A Advisory team guides clients through every stage of the transaction lifecycle from developing the corporate strategy to performing diligence to leading the integration efforts. You will work closely with the M&A Advisory Practice Lead to develop and assist in growing our M&A Advisory practice for our clients in a variety of industries including Technology, Healthcare, Manufacturing and Distribution, Construction, Engineering, and Business Services.
Responsibilities:
- Tax consulting and planning e.g., analyzing proposed transactions for tax implications and tax risks
- Transaction structuring for tax issues e.g., advising clients on tax-efficient restructuring
- Due diligence e.g., interpreting complex legislative and regulatory actions relating to corporate and partnership transactions, assisting clients with regulatory and legislative initiatives, and preparing for client review submission requests for private letter rulings and technical advice from the IRS
- Strategy formulation and financial modeling e.g., performing financial analyses to assess the tax consequences of specific transactions
- Developing, motivating, and training staff-level team members.
What You'll Need to be Successful:
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and bring order to unstructured problems
- A minimum of three years experience in federal tax and/or mergers and acquisitions in a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm
- Bachelor's degree, CPA, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Masters in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university
- Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters in various industries
- Ability to handle multiple engagements and client service teams
- Excellent research and writing skills
