We are looking for an Intern in R&D Engineering to join our Chemtech Technology & Innovation team in Switzerland.

Join our R&D team for six months, where you will have the opportunity to develop new products for the chemical industry and sustainable technologies, such as carbon capture, bio-refineries, and emission control.

As an Intern in our Separation Technology Business Unit, you will be part of a dynamic team driving projects from the ideation phase to market-ready solutions. You will gain exposure to developing essential products like structured and random packings, trays, internals, separators, and static mixers—working on in-house and client projects that are diverse in nature and pivotal for the industry.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the development of structured and random packings, column internals, and related products.
  • Conduct hands-on evaluation of developed products in hydraulic test rigs, absorption and distillation columns from laboratory to pilot plant scale.
  • Document, evaluate, and interpret experimental results to produce data-driven insights.
  • Support the enhancement of our testing facilities and even design new test setups.
  • Participate in the full product development lifecycle, from ideation through market-readiness, contributing to impactful projects.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field, with strong knowledge in mass transfer and/or separation technology.
  • Strong interest & experience in hands-on, practical work in a laboratory set-up, including conducting experiments.
  • Previous experience in data visualization and analysis, with the ability to interpret and document findings effectively.
  • Basic mechanical skills and hands-on experience with pilot plants are beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CAD and programming skills is a plus.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, collaborate well within a team, and bring a proactive and innovative mindset to the table.
  • Fluency in English, other languages welcome.

What we offer you:

  • An innovative, vibrant and agile culture where you can contribute to sustainable technologies
  • Excellent social benefits (holidays, pension fund etc.)
  • Attractive employment conditions
  • Access to a wide range of discounts on Everyday Shopping, Entertainment and Lifestyle
