The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for the care and management of patients seen in the Urgent Care Clinic. May be responsible for call at designated times. This position operates under all Winona Health policies and procedures, and State and CMS rules and regulations. The position is responsible to deliver the highest level of customer service and productivity for all patients at all times. The position will work closely with the physician supervisor in order to maintain standards of care that meet with the high expectations of Winona Health.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The PA will see patients in the Urgent Care setting for the purpose of assessment, diagnosis and Will work under the direction of a supervising Physician for the care and treatment of patients.
  • Provides excellent and caring customer service in the treatment of patients. Provide care in compliance with policies, procedures and scope of practice in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Keeps abreast of current drug and treatment interventions for care of
  • Refers patients appropriately to physicians and specialists for disease management or diagnostic function that exceeds the scope of practice that is appropriate for the PA.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Post-secondary in related field of study. Graduate of an accredited physician's assistant program, active participation in continuing education programs and maintains NCCPA certification. CPR Certification. ACLS. Valid Minnesota Physician Assistant License. Basic computer skills. Outlook. Patient information database (Cerner, EMR, American Data).

Familiar with Information Technology Systems.

Work Environment:
A fast-pace clinical environment with multi-tasking, prioritizing, and frequent interruptions. Continuous interpersonal communication required with managers, staff, volunteers, and the general public.
