Donor Engagement and Communication Coordinator

Job Overview
Reporting to the Director of Annual and Reunion Giving, the Donor Engagement and Communication Coordinator fosters meaningful donor connections through personalized acknowledgments and communications, and coordinates content creation, record maintenance, and support for donor engagement activities within the Office of Annual & Reunion Giving. This position is full time and pays an hourly rate of $25-26/hour.

Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Manages Wheaton Associates membership outreach.
  • Manages a portfolio of 50+ donor households and engages in direct fundraising activities—including calls, visits, and written communication—to secure donor commitments, and grow giving.
  • Plans, produces, and coordinates execution of engaging, personalized donor communications—including welcome packages, newsletters, messages, videos, stories, and text messaging campaigns—to support prospecting, stewardship, engagement, and more.
  • Oversees prompt, personal donor communications, including thank-you notes and other recognitions.
  • Coordinates Student Ambassador program, including the facilitation of 15–20 student volunteers. 
  • Manages the donor email inbox and phones, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Works with the Office of Marketing Communications to execute the Annual & Reunion Giving marketing and communication plan, especially key donor engagement pieces like the President’s Memorandum, Advent Devotional, and other marketing materials like videos, photoshoots, and more.
  • Records activities in the CRM system and maintains donor records.
  • Supports on-campus events like Alumni and Homecoming Weekends and Giving Day.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in fundraising and nonprofits preferred
  • Previous work experience in an office setting preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple projects with high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated self-management, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Computer competencies, including proficiency with data entry, web-based applications, and Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements 
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
