Data Quality Program Manager

We are currently seeking an efficiency forward thinking, process intelligent, AI optimizing,  Data Quality Program Manager to join our Operations and Consumer Services team, in-office, in our Burnsville, MN office.

Position Summary

The Data Quality Program Manager manages and directs the day-to-day operations and activities of the Data Quality (DQ) functions and supervises DQ support personnel. The role also provides support to the Vice President, Operations and Consumer Services to promote efficient delivery of services and operational programs within department.

The successful candidate will have a proven ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of BBB MN & ND data quality 
  • Review system Data Quality Dashboard to ensure reports are distributed and completed in prioritized order (e.g., Accredited Businesses, Non-Accredited Businesses)
  • Work with International Association of Better Business Bureaus (IABBB) and database system administrator (Blue) to enhance and improve DQ reporting, processing, and efficiencies within the program
  • Manage data quality projects from IABBB and/or similar internal initiatives; create, assign, and monitor reports as needs dictate
  • Distribute and assist with data entry needed within database system of new business addresses, complaints, updates to Standard Business Questionnaires, additions to the Do Not Call List, and other necessary changes 
  • Display initiative by identifying department processes to improve and provide feasible action steps for improvement
  • Identify opportunities for automation and artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and lead execution, from automating repetitive tasks to enhancing data analytics to meeting operational goals
  • Attend bi-weekly IABBB Sprint Demo Tech calls to stay up to date with database improvements and efficiencies
  • Run Accredited Business renewal checklists monthly and review faults; provide licensing and BBB Standard issues to Vice President for suspension
  • Find creative data driven solutions to solve problems and inefficiencies across various departments
  • Provide analysis of data to ensure timely decision making by department heads.
  • Responds to all BBB systemwide requests for tying, transferring and connecting of business profiles, companies and “doing business as” (DBAs) for all complaints and customer reviews
  • Partner with government agencies to identify and enter government actions into company profiles
  • Serve as backup for Resource Specialist for daily breaks and out of office time; create alternate department coverage plan for any staff absences as needed to ensure effective department coverage for all department needs
  • Lead Operations’ teams in Data Quality blitz projects
  • Recruit, train, and supervise department interns and MSU work study students as budget allows
  • Subscribe to applicable BBB email lists and take action on topics and conducts research as needed in collaboration with Vice President
  • Partake in local continuing educational opportunities as well as BBB national conferences as assigned
  • Maintain high level of professionalism and discretion if involved in topics regarding performance or behavior of team and other Operations issues
  • Represent BBB and mission by providing courteous and knowledgeable information in all interactions internally and externally
  • In conjunction with other Operations department managers, partake in a rotation of office hours coverage of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 
  • Participate in BBB events as needed (i.e., consumer scam presentations, BBB signature events)
  • Other duties as assigned by Vice President, Operations & Consumer Services.

Requirements

Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
  • 3-5 years data management experience 
  • Management experience including process, project and people management skills
  • Demonstrated experience using MS Office Suite, with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, MS Teams, and Outlook.                                      
  • Intermediate-advanced level Excel skills preferred.
  • Experience with SQL or the ability to learn and utilize SQL queries is a strong plus. 
  • Experience utilizing and implementing AI technologies to improve productivity and processes in an organization.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change with ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals
  • Expertise in customer service and conflict resolution areas
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • Willingness to be “hands-on” when necessary, but maintain a “big picture” focus


Compensation & Benefit Information:

  • Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000 annually
  • Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and education.
