Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC is currently seeking a Financial Insights Manager for its Pittsburgh, PA office. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in financial analysis & reporting along with familiarity in financial modeling, forecasting, and performance tuning. Experience with ERP systems, data warehouse architecture, and report automation tools is also required. Experience in a legal or professional services environment preferred.
The Financial Insights Manager acts as a strategic and technical partner to the Chief Financial Officer, playing a critical role in financial reporting, dashboarding, data analysis, vendor collaboration, and the execution of special projects. This role requires a robust understanding of financial systems, data analysis, and visualization tools to generate actionable insights and enhance operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare, automate, and analyze financial reports on a semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc basis.
- Build, update, and maintain dynamic dashboards using Power BI, incorporating DAX and Power Query to visualize KPIs and financial trends effectively.
- Understand the characteristics of data sets and identify patterns; conduct variance analysis and scenario modeling to inform and support strategic decisions.
Data Management & Technical Capabilities
- Design and manage SQL-based queries to extend and manage financial data from internal systems and data warehouses.
- Collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure data integrity and optimize data warehouses for reporting and analytics.
- Enhance financial data models and reporting frameworks using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Excel and other business intelligence tools.
Report Automation
- Develop and implement automated reporting solutions to streamline recurring financial reports, minimizing manual effort.
- Utilize scripting, scheduling tools, and cloud-based services to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports.
- Monitor and maintain automation workflows, resolving issues and optimizing performance.
Cloud Vendor Coordination
- Serve as the finance liaison for cloud-based financial platforms and data services, ensuring service reliability and data security.
- Coordinate the resolution of financial systems related issues with internal IT and cloud vendor teams.
Strategic Projects
- Partner with the CFO to manage and drive finance transformation initiatives and projects, including automation, predictive analytics, and modernization of reporting structures.
- Support implementation and optimization of financial systems and platforms.
- Assist in preparing materials for board meetings, partner presentations, and internal strategy sessions.
Presentation & Communication
- Create executive-level PowerPoint presentations and visual narratives tailored for internal and external stakeholders.
- Translate complex financial and technical data into clear, actionable insights.
- Educate users on financial insights and measures, dashboard solutions, and available levers available to drive financial improvements.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or related roles.
- Familiarity with financial modeling, forecasting, and performance tuning.
- Experience in professional services or law firm environments preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP systems, data warehouse architecture, and report automation tools. Experience with Elite 3E and Data Insights preferred.
