About the role.
The MDI Coordinator is responsible for establishing process centerlines targets for equipment in assigned area. You will lead continuous improvement projects within the assigned production line. This includes identifying key areas for improvement, assisting in the development of the programs, and the rollout and execution of MDI (McCain Driving Impact) related activities, processes, and plans.
What you’ll be doing.
- Lead and assist with various production projects.
- Coordinate activities including training in various continuous improvement processes, etc. Be a teacher and facilitator of continuous improvement
- Backfill supervisory positions and department positions, as directed.
- Ensure that operator requirements and trainings are consistent on all operating shifts.
- Assist in coordinating the orientation and training of new employees in appropriate manufacturing processes.
- Provide recommendations and support for improving operational capabilities to all departments.
- Assist with the development and training of new processes implemented in production.
- Create, identify gaps, and update Center Lines.
- Develop and utilize tools that will maximize the effectiveness of programs and sustain them over time. This includes but is not limited to OSI PI, Defect Logs, Centerlines, CID Routes
- Assist in developing and performing Design of Experiments in conjunction with Max Capacity Manager
- Validate current waste stream performance
- Analyzing issues relating to conditions where Process Center Lines and SOPs were not followed.
- Analyze data for targeting at critical measurement locations.
- Coach team members and supervisors in following DMS (Daily Management System) to sustain the MDI Program.
- Perform Coaching on all four shifts to sustain the MDI program.
- Ensure proper line set-up and run according to Process Centerline (PC), in tandem with, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and product design (Routing), including equipment, process, material and crewing.
- Perform health checks on all four shifts
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Follow proper GMP and safety guidelines.
- Other job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to be successful.
- Properly allocate resources to maintain the operation of the plants and prioritize the needs properly to ensure we meet the needs of the plant.
- Effectively manages the projects assigned to them to ensure that the proper resources, plans, and timelines are met.
- Identifies ways to improve the reliability of the equipment and efficiency. Optimize programs to ensure equipment efficiency.
- Conducts Daily Directional Meetings, hand out assignments, DDS follow up and ensure the McCain Driving Impact (MDI) program adheres to global minimum standards.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months’ related experience and/or training preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Proven understanding of Canadian CPG market; focused to develop understanding of McCain, our customers, and consumers
- Strong Computer skills Excel, Office Word, and PowerPoint
- Possess thorough knowledge of plant operations

Compensation Package: $35.90-$35.90 USD hourly + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
Shift Differential Pay: $1.50/hr
