About the Department
Position Duties
Under administrative direction, is responsible for assisting with duties related to completion of projects, programs, or initiatives for a City division or department. Serves as the specialist to the supervisor or manager of projects, programs or initiatives. Provide administrative support, schedule meetings and ensure deadlines are met. Assist in creating schedules, timelines, and maintain project budgets. Provides reports, presentations, communications and correspondence as required. Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED is required. An Associate or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited two year or four year college or university in Business or Public Administration, Social Sciences, or closely related field preferred. One year of full-time paid experience in government or private industry is required. Substitution: Completion of a fellowship program, apprentice program, or other similar program; OR completion of a certification program, i.e., Project Management, Human Resources, etc. Must be able to lift and carry thirty (30) pounds. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License or State-issued identification card. Must be proficient utilizing all Microsoft Office products.

Duties and Tasks
- Performs routine to complex setup, installation, and configuration of the CAD, RMS and other Public Safety systems to include new software releases and upgrades, implements, configures, and test related Public Safety applications;
- Troubleshoots and resolves routine to complex problems with servers, databases, applications and user hardware and software; works with the vendor to resolve issues when appropriate;
- Consults with users to identify existing systems problems or new business requirements then evaluates and recommends various software and hardware solutions to meet the users needs. Assist with researching, recommending, implementing and testing new functionality and configuration changes;
- Collaborate and communicate with Division Business Owners to support all system changes, direction and planned upgrades and other matters pertaining to the applications;
- Provide occasional off-hours support for critical updates or incident response as needed;
- Maintain up to date documentation for systems, processes and network configurations;
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and policies;
- Ability to analyze software issues to ensure consistent functionality;
- Ability to analyze and resolve complicated problems;
- Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities as necessary;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members;

- Excellent people skills, is competent and comfortable with handling support request via helpdesk tickets, phone, email and in person;
- Ability to multi-task and work with limited supervision;
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions, support and explains reasoning for decisions, including appropriate people in decision-making process;
- Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals;
- Solid verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences;
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Monitors own work to ensure quality;
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
- Experience using helpdesk software and ability to coordinate with other IT department personnel for successful and timely resolution of tickets;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Security principles and best practices;
- Knowledge of IT security principles, vulnerabilities, and protection methods;
