Job purpose

The Procurement Analyst is responsible for assisting Buyers and Category Managers in building and maintaining strategies in procuring key resources throughout the Idahoan Supply Chain network. As a part of this team, you will work to find ways to analyze and optimize category spend. You will be a key contributor to support the growth, innovation, and sustainability ambitions of the business. You will contribute to key sourcing projects relating to all direct materials, while monitoring and driving key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial performance, quality, Design to Value (DTV), and responsible sourcing.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the packaging sourcing strategies through data analysis.
  • Analyze category spend to identify opportunities for process improvement; evaluate current procurement processes through data mining and analysis to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement, with the goal of improving overall operational effectiveness
  • Review supplier’s market driven price changes against contractual language and market data to confirm alignment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address opportunities for improvement within the purchasing process
  • Actively engage with vendors for quote submittal, understanding urgency of each item and appropriately conveying the importance to outside service partners to help ensure first time yield and on time delivery for critical path items
  • Build regular reports that highlight current spend/inventory position vs. KPI’s
  • Validate supplier invoice discrepancies for accuracy
  • Maintain item details such as pricing, MOQ’s, active status, etc. within operating systems for accuracy.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of bid packages, utilizing best case RFx practices
  • Assist in the development of qualified, competitive sources of supply on a continuing basis through comprehensive financial and market reviews
  • Assist internal stakeholders in managing supplier relationships, tracking supplier performance, and communicating performance feedback to suppliers

Qualifications/Required Skills

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain OR equivalent experience required. 1-2 years of experience in Sourcing and Procurement or related field, with particular experience in spend analysis, data management, cost savings, and business improvement / execution projects. Experience documenting/designing business processes, performing business analysis, and requirements definition preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to prepare, format, proofread, and edit documents that are succinct and professional. Must have effective oral and written communication skills, excellent telephone skills, and thorough knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to conduct thorough data / spend analysis as defined by Category Managers and/or other leadership groups.
  • Reasoning Ability: Possess strong analytical, quantitative, communication, problem solving, and technical skills. Ability to apply experience, common sense, and a strategic business perspective creatively to a variety of situations, processes, and people. Demonstrates the self-confidence and maturity to make decisions and solve problems with minimal direction. Organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while consistently delivering “completed staff work”. Effectively communicate and influence positive results.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Team player, flexible and accepts changing assignments and accountabilities. Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage a high volume of projects simultaneously. Resourceful self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity. Self-driven with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across teams.
  • Computer Skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook; Word including tables; Excel including layout, formulas, charts, and graphs; PowerPoint presentations including graphs and charts; databases and reporting; and the ability to independently format professional documents. Knowledge of Object-based report writing software tools a plus. Proficiency in workings of ERP systems, procure-to-pay systems, and Power BI preferred.
  • Work Environment: The position is located in a corporate business office environment with moderate noise levels and requires sitting at a desk for extended periods and walking from point to point.
