Position Overview
The Quality Control Supervisor will monitor, maintain, and improve quality control systems to ensure compliance with ACM’s quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements; will also provide oversight, training, and motivation to the Quality Control Leads and Technicians to achieve departmental goals. This person is highly motivated, goal-oriented, and strives to meet and exceed expectations; Must be enthusiastic, and patient, have excellent problem-solving and follow-through skills; Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment; And must always exhibit a professional, efficient demeanor. This position requires a high level of interdepartmental communication and collaboration, strong written and verbal communication, and professionalism.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists QA Manager in maintaining BRC Standards, facilitating third-party audits, managing the school lunch program, and as needed on other projects/tasks
- Maintains and reviews production records to ensure accuracy
- Ensures all ACM employees are following procedures including GMPs, food safety protocols, and product specs
- Provides training for employees using Alchemy System, PowerPoint and/or written SOPs
- Creates, modifies, and maintains departmental SOPs, and reports
- Strives to increase productivity; Completes tasks correctly and on time; Uses time efficiently; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality
- Responds timely to requests for information, service, and assistance
- Prioritizes and plans work activities; effectively trains and delegates to the team
- Gathers and analyzes information; Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner using sound judgment and diplomacy; Supports and explains reasoning behind decisions; Includes appropriate people in the decision-making process
Education
Bachelor’s degree and/or strong equivalent of skills and experience
Qualifications
- Three to Five years of supervisory experience working in a food processing environment
- Ability to use various computer-based programs including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- Five to Ten years of experience in a food processing environment
- Previous experience working in the meat processing environment
- Experience with HACCP
- Experience with GFSI audit standards
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
