JOB SUMMARY
This position will oversee all new books, tip-card collection, and catalogs. Primary responsibility will be to control sampling cost while providing on time delivery.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Manage day to day performance of Sample Book team
- Gather and publish preliminary and final costs estimates of all book components. Work with studio, accounting, purchasing, graphics, printers, bindery, sales (book quantity forecasts)
- Handle all personnel in department including hiring, handling issues, reviewing performance, conducting training, and termination if necessary
- Primary project manager of all activities/shipments/deadlines/quantities associated with all new sample book/tip card shipment schedule
- Establish bindery material requirements for all SKU’s. Ensure that sample book/tip card work orders have the correct book/card components to production planning and purchasing to create work orders or sales orders
- Coordinate timing of sample book work order completion for book cost/ accounting roll up, book plan file administration, receipts of books
- Key Member of Residential and Commercial Line Plan Teams
- Communicate specific book details to bindery: guide-book with back print labels, layouts, quantities, book version details, and schedule. Communicate all customer shipping requirements prior to ship dates to ensure seamless shipping
- Deployment of books against book plans
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree, high school diploma, GED
- 5+ years’ experience in project management
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete work within given deadlines
- Experience with leading a team, within a rapidly changing deadline-driven environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and SAP
