About the Department
Position Duties
- Serves as subject matter expert, individually motivated and operating with a sense of urgency and personal accountability
- Reconciles transactions with supporting documentation in accordance with pertinent regulations, and are classified and recorded according to acceptable accounting standards
- Prepares forecast data; work with Auditor Office to correct accounting/posting error, adjustments, and schedule
- Assists Department with the collection, maintenance, evaluation, and analysis of relevant information such as client population data; the delivery of goods and services related to Outside Agency contracts/agreements, to include program outcomes, participant performance measures; and service levels
- Communicates with other departments within the county, and utilizes the county’s auditor system to verify daily/weekly expenditures; verify vendor has received payment for services rendered; communicates with County offices and departments regarding bank activity
- Updates and maintains General Fund and Grant Projects and any other programs operated by Community Resources in order to prepare, statistical reports, summaries, presentations, aggregate analysis, management studies, surveys and other special projects
- Review and recording journal entries into financial system; balances monthly receivables; reconciles transactions with supporting documentation in accordance with pertinent regulations, and are classified and recorded according to acceptable accounting standards
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field and two (2) years’ experience in accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good knowledge of commonly accepted accounting practices and procedures; knowledge of electronic banking systems and procedures
- Skill in problem solving, decision making and maintaining accurate records
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; and to establish/maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees and the public; ability to operate personal computer, peripherals and basic office equipment and advanced knowledge of desktop applications, including Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrates technological intuitiveness
- Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
- Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
- May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
- Working conditions are in an office / telework environment
- Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally move about the office/ telework office
- Frequently communicates with others using approved technological resources; must be able to exchange accurate information through designated systems within a timely manner
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Positions self to perform essential functions of the job in an office / telework environment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement
- Maintains County-issued equipment, software, data and supplies
