Job Summary
Raymond James is seeking a Senior Project Designer to support with the planning and designing of a wide range of branch projects such as new offices, renovations, expansions, rightsizing, etc. Our approach combines strategy, and design expertise with strong communication skills in a collaborative team environment that engages with a wide variety of clients on projects of all sizes.
The Senior Project Designer manages the delivery of the particular program strategy through all phases of design from concept to hand-off to the Construction Managers. The individual in the role is in charge of ensuring the successful implementation of the approved design concepts and guidelines from beginning to end.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Activities and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: acting as the design lead for the particular division, coordinating with internal and external resources, and supporting the team in developing and improving the delivery programs that are part of implementing a branch project
• Cultivates and maintains positive working relationships with all client representatives and service providers operating on the projects
• Collaborate with the internal and external teams in developing creative design solutions for each design project
• Review project documents for quality assurance
• Interact and consult with clients as needed
• Support in leading the team in project design and documentation from start to finish
• Plan, coordinate and manage project deliverables
• Oversee project financial performance specifically to design related fields
• Innovate new ways to raise the bar for the team and the company
• Sources appropriate vendors including architects, designers, specialty vendors and other suppliers as necessary to support nationwide branch office project needs
• Responsible for preparing hand-off packages to Construction Project Managers for project execution following the design group guidelines
• Support with space planning studies as needed
• Interface with furniture vendors to request and confirm furniture orders for the specific projects
• Track design schedules to ensure workload deliveries
• Establishes basic logistics to improve efficiencies in the record keeping processes
• Issue meeting minutes and keeps project information in SharePoint and other internal network drives
• Formulates and update monthly activity reports and maintains project information repository up to date
• Attends project calls and provide project status reports
• Adheres to Raymond James critical processes, documentation, and reporting requirements
• Ensures contracting process is followed and service levels are met in compliance with agreements
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of
• Space planning, design, construction code requirements
• Office furniture planning, estimating and sourcing
• Interior finishes and materials selection
• General project management concepts and methodologies
• General construction and real estate business practices
• General finance and accounting concepts
Skill in
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat required
• Experience with SharePoint, Service Now, Microsoft Project, Tableau or any other data tool
• Experience with Sketch-up , Visio or any other visualization tool
• Excellent communication skills and skillful in preparing and delivering design presentations
Ability to
• Establish and maintaining effective working relationships within the organization
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Source new suppliers across U.S. markets
• Provide a high level of customer service
• Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments
• Learn new software applications, systems, and methods/procedures
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, or related field
• Three to five (3-5) years of experience related to all aspects of Design, Construction, and Project Management
• Previous experience working in a financial services firm or other corporate environment is strongly preferred
Licenses/Certifications
• Architectural license, Interior Design license, LED certification is a plus
