Description

Regular Full Time               Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly               Reports to: Pharmacy Operations Officer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)

This position will be primarily based at the Idaho Falls Clinic, with regular travel required to satellite locations in Rigby and Blackfoot

  • Assists with facility technical support and communication of inventory management related activities
  • Maintain document matching, filing and billing system
  • Provides follow-ups for all in-process duties
  • Assists in maintaining appropriate staffing levels
  • Attend management meetings and comply with all required training and education according to policies and procedures
  • Sustains professional competency and promotes self-development through participation in appropriate professional workshops, in-services, seminars, and professional organization(s).
  • Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
  • Work independently, as well as be part of the team, in an environment with interruptions
  • Maintain inventory control practices in assigned pharmacy locations
  • Assist in preparation of work schedules and monitor pharmacy workload as assigned by the Pharmacy Operations Officer
  • Assist in providing for the educational and training needs of the pharmacy staff
  • Must be able to function in the role of Pharmacy Technician when needed and assist with pharmacy technician responsibilities within the pharmacy as follows:
    • Data entry of prescriptions from hardcopy, e-scripts, & refills
    • Prepare prescriptions for filling
    • Process & bill Prescription at Point of Sale
    • Manage inventory & prepare daily reports as assigned
    • Maintain assigned work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition
  • Assist the Pharmacy Operations Officer in development, implementation and maintenance of a program that improves the quality of pharmacy services and supports the quality improvement plan of the health system
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records in compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with
  • CC Idaho, Joint Commission, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations
  • Oversee the administration and operation of the 340B program, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits of 340B purchasing, inventory, and utilization records to ensure compliance. Implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Analyze data related to 340B program participation, including cost savings and utilization reports. Prepare quarterly and annual reports documenting program performance.
  • Provide training and education to staff on 340B program requirements and updates. Ensure all relevant personnel are informed about compliance standards and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the 340B program. Ensure these policies are up-to-date and in compliance with regulatory changes.
  • Work closely with other departments, including finance, IT, and clinical services, to ensure seamless integration and operation of the 340B program.
  • Manage relationships with 340B vendors and wholesalers. Ensure all systems are functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to the 340B program. Monitor and report on program performance

Qualifications/Benefits


Qualifications                                                

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Idaho State Pharmacy Technician license
  • Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance
  • Must pass a background check
  • Specific Pharmacy Technician knowledge and training
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Evidence of no communicable disease

Preferred

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Knowledge of the 340-B, GPO, and WAC purchasing preferred
  • Specific Pharmacy Technician knowledge and training
  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting

 

Required Physical Demands

  • Is required to stand for long periods of time; must frequently walk; climb or balance, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; reach with hands and arms; grasping/holding
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

 

Work Environment

Work in an office setting; the work may be stressful; the noise level is moderate; may be exposed to electrical shock and fumes or airborne particles
