Job Description:Purpose of the Job:
Development of the CI, Production Engineering & Maintenance Department to achieve business plan objectives. Ultimate responsibility for implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques (in line with the Rotork Lean Programme), provision, support and improvement of robust manufacturing processes and equipment. Performance measurement and development of employees and support of management strategies and policies.
Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:
- Development of CI, Production Engineering & Maintenance Team
- Full operational and budget responsibility for the department
- Lead the deployment of Rotork Lean Programme (RLP) within the site, working cross functionally on site and across other locations.
- Develop organization-wide lean thinking and utilisation of lean tools.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators, in line with Group objectives, to drive business improvements across the site
- Establish key strategic activity required to develop the team in line with overall business objectives.
- Leadership and facilitation of Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs)
- Drive operational efficiency and cost reduction projects designed to achieve site productivity and company profit targets.
- Ensure proactive support and development of all manufacturing processes, procedures and systems, enabling full support to production department
- Manage and lead staff in an efficient and flexible manner, ensuring all necessary training and development has been performed and necessary qualifications are in place.
- Promote and support Health and Safety guidelines.
- Support NPI projects working closely with other departments to ensure introduction of robust capable processes.
Qualifications:
Essential
- University Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing related subject (preferred)
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience utilising lean manufacturing techniques with demonstrated success
- Experience of using six sigma methodology to improve operational performance
- Data driven approach with a proven track record in successful and sustainable business improvement
- Proven track record of achieving strategic business objectives within an operations role
- Previous experience coordinating complex projects
- Strong problem solving techniques
- Strong computer and data collection system literacy, analysis and presentation. Proven presentation skills, including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Desirable
- Six Sigma Green / Black Belt
- Experience working within a global multi-cultural organization.
- Well verse in Lean methodology /Continuous improvement
- Worked in MNC culture
- TPM/TQM will be an add on
