Program Overview:

The Office of Military Commissions (OMC), along with its affiliated organizations, supports the fair and transparent legal proceedings of detainees held at Guantanamo Bay in accordance with U.S. law. OMC operates facilities in both the National Capital Region (DMV) and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. This mission requires critical language support to facilitate legal, intelligence, and operational activities. Arabic Linguists supporting this program play a vital role in ensuring accurate communication and cultural understanding throughout the judicial and administrative processes.

Position Overview:

RIVA Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Arabic Linguist to support the Office of Military Commissions (OMC) and its affiliated operations across the National Capital Region and Guantanamo Bay. In this role, the linguist will provide accurate translation, transcription, and interpretation services to support legal, intelligence, and operational functions. The ideal candidate will possess native-level Arabic proficiency, fluency in English, and an active TS/SCI clearance. This is a critical, mission-facing role that enables transparent judicial proceedings and facilitates cross-cultural communication in support of U.S. Government objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Translate complex reports and texts from Arabic to English and vice versa, capturing both factual and abstract meaning, cultural nuance, and implied context.
• Transcribe and interpret audio and internet-based materials with high fidelity to original intent and tone.
• Produce written translations that meet target language norms and are appropriate to the subject matter.
• Format translated documents in the same structure as the source material.
• Attend all required DoD onboarding and training sessions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must score a 4 or higher on a proctored translation test (mandatory qualification).
• Bachelor's Degree 
• Active TS/SCI clearance; must be CI polygraph eligible upon hire.
• Native-level proficiency in Arabic (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic internet research tools.
• Strong understanding of regional, cultural, and geopolitical dynamics.

Salary: $115,000/year with FTE Benefits
