Key Responsibilities
- To work collaboratively with the Director of Finance and FM to deliver the Facilities Management Service across the Trust. Creating and maintaining safe, secure, welcoming and supportive environments for service users, families, staff and volunteers.
- Manage the Facilities Management Contract services to ensure delivery against the contract, including tendering exercises when contracts expire.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders across the Trust including the Senior Management Team and Leadership Team.
- Attendance at the SMT & LMT meetings, including on occasions leading and presenting in relation to FM projects.
- To lead on FM and Retail capital project programme across the Trust
- Budgetary and Financial accountability for the FM revenue c£1.5 million per annum and Capex annual budget c.£1 million per annum.
- FM accountability for the BCP, ensuring participation in the updating of the BCP planning, BCP scenario planning and testing.
- To oversee the Building Management System (BMS), Asset Maintenance Register, and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes, ensuring timely remedial actions and service continuity.
- Contribute to the Trusts environmental strategy, delivering efficiency initiative and reporting on our Carbon footprint.
- Working collaboratively to develop and implement the Health & Safety Strategy policies and compliance in line with legislation, whilst fostering a health & safety culture measured by employee engagement, near-miss reporting and continuous improvement.
- Act as a key member of the Health & Safety Committee, facilitating incident reporting, tracking action plans, and conducting regular audits and compliance checks across the hospice sites.
- Provide advice on all aspects of Health & Safety across the Trust, including risk assessments, statutory inspections, fire regulations and promoting safe systems of work.
- Lead the FM team which includes FM Engineers, FM Co-ordinator and Housekeeping. Offering support to the Team including our volunteers, fostering a positive, inclusive culture that reflects the Trust's values in all aspects of service delivery.
- Co-ordinate FM related training, Toolbox talks, site inductions for the FM team, new staff, volunteers and contractors, ensuring awareness of health & safety practices and compliance requirements.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Management experience within an FM environment across multiple sites.
- Experience of managing and delivering both Hard and Soft FM Services.
- Engaging with diverse teams over a mixed portfolio of locations
- Experience of Project planning and management in an FM environment, and an understanding of the application of CDM regulations.
- Flexible, adaptable with friendly and helpful 'hands on' approach.
- A Health & Safety management qualification from NEBOSH or an equivalent IBOSH accreditation.
- A strong understanding of the application of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant legislation including Passive Fire Protection.
- FM qualification or accreditation is desirable
- Computer literacy with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook experience.
