New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc. (NESL) is seeking a highly motivated Safety Coordinator to support our Safety and Operation teams. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate safety records and compliance, coordinating training and supporting data-driven safety initiatives across our materials, construction and transportation operations. This position is based out of our Camp Hill, PA office.
Essential Functions:
Provide administrative support and analysis to the Safety, Training and Compliance Team.
Develop and maintain essential safety records, data systems, analytics, and reports.
Facilitate regulatory compliance by maintaining safety and health records and submitting required reports to regulatory agencies (OSHA, MSHA and PA-DOLI).
Serve as a system user and subject matter expert for Safety platforms and applications.
Maintain the Safety Training Data Management System.
Lead and support various aspects of safety programs and initiatives, fostering a safety-first mindset throughout the organization.
Process internal and external requests for Safety related data.
Process and code department invoices.
Assist with NESL Safety & Health Standards updates, distribution and recordkeeping.
Coordinate safety training, health screening/monitoring and maintain records.
Maintain records of safety audits, inspections, certifications and incident investigations.
Develop and distribute internal communications, such as toolbox talks, near misses, risk education, etc.
Support HR and Fleet Compliance initiatives as needed.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or related field is required. However, three (3) or more years of specific and relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations and compliance standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills (i.e. formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis). Familiarity with Powerpoint and Sharepoint is also preferred.
Demonstrated experience with database systems and reporting tools.
Experience or education in process development and improvement.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, procedures and regulations.
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and train others.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
Valid driver’s license and compliant with NESL’s minimum driving standards.
