Job Type: Full-time     


Reports To: Service Manager  

Position Summary:

The Route Sales Representative Supervisor is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a team of Route Sales Representatives (RSRs) within Lord Baltimore Uniform’s Rental Service Department. This position oversees customer accounts, ensures high service standards, and supports route operations through training, audits, and direct delivery. The Supervisor performs new customer fittings, installations, and route audits, while also stepping in to cover routes during employee absences. This is a fast-paced, physical role requiring strong leadership, customer service, and logistical skills. The position includes a 90-day probationary period, during which performance, reliability, and team fit will be evaluated. Upon successful completion, the role transitions to permanent status.

This role operates in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where teamwork, accountability, and attention to detail are key. Supervisors are expected to lead by example and foster a culture of safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Supervise daily operations of assigned Route Sales Representatives
  •  Conduct route check-ins and oversee truck loading/unloading
  •  Perform new customer fittings, installations, and route audits
  •  Train and evaluate RSRs in safety, customer service, and upselling techniques
  •  Provide route coverage during RSR sick or vacation leave
  •  Handle customer complaints and ensure timely resolution
  •  Promote safe work practices and enforce company safety policies
  •  Maintain vehicle cleanliness and oversee routine maintenance
  •  Collaborate with the Service Team to meet KPIs and company goals
  •  Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company standards
  •  Review customer requests and ensure efficient handling of concerns

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  •  Mentor and coach RSRs to improve performance and service quality
  •  Support performance evaluations and development planning
  •  Assist with scheduling and route coordination
  •  Learn and understand each customer and route under your supervision
  •  Partner with the Service Manager to drive continuous improvement

Work Schedule:

  •  Must be available for flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional weekends
  •  Required to cover multiple routes during employee absences
  •  Flexibility needed to respond to driver inquiries outside standard hours

Tools & Technical Proficiency:

  •  Familiarity with route planning systems and mobile delivery technology
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  •  Strong understanding of DOT regulations and vehicle safety standards

Performance Metrics:

  •  Route efficiency and customer satisfaction scores
  •  Inventory accountability and delivery accuracy
  •  Safety compliance and incident reduction
  •  Effective team leadership and RSR development
  •  Timely resolution of customer issues and service requests

Qualifications:

Required:

  •  Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  •  Must be at least 21 years old
  •  High school diploma, GED, or military experience
  •  Valid DOT Medical Certification or ability to obtain one
  •  Minimum 3 years of experience in route service or delivery operations
  •  Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  •  Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
  •  CDL not required, but candidates with commercial driving experience or certifications may be prioritized

Physical Requirements:

  •  Able to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and drive for extended periods
  •  Push/pull carts weighing 50 to 400 lbs. using a dolly
  •  Climb in and out of delivery vehicles multiple times per day
  •  Lift, carry, and maneuver bundled textiles and uniform packages
  •  Work in warm, humid, and noisy environments typical of industrial laundry operations
  •  Perform physical demonstrations during training sessions
  •  Operate vehicles for long periods, including navigating tight delivery zones
  •  Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  •  Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  •  Ability to work long shifts, including early mornings and occasional overtime
