We have an exciting opportunity for a customer service professional to join the Village in the position of Public Works Service Representative.
Position Duties
The Public Works Service Representative is a customer facing position that provides a high level of customer service addressing Public Works Departmental resident inquiries at the front service counter and over the phone including, but not limited to utility billing account inquires, customer account updates, utility billing payment status, Village asset maintenance inquires, Public Works project updates, Public Works Village ordinance requirements, etc.
This position also performs data entry tasks using specialized database programs and software, collects data, tabulates information, and perform basic to complex data analysis. This position will also research, investigate, and analyze information and topics requested by supervisory personnel and compile information and data into a useable format for analysis and prepare reports as requested. Utilize work order systems to escalate reported asset issues to the proper Public Works division to be assigned for maintenance and provide work order status updates to reporting residents.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma along with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of customer service experience in an office environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be a self-starter and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to multi-task throughout the day along with solid organizational skills and attention to detail are needed. They must be able to take appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines and establish effective working relationships. They will demonstrate excellent customer service, communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. They will be able to deal tactfully and effectively with a variety of people in difficult circumstances and maintain the highest level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive matters.
