Position Description

Travel Required
Major/Essential Functions
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of sport-specific strength and conditioning programs to enhance athletic performance, strength, speed, agility, and cardiovascular conditioning.
- Serve as a flexible resource ("floater") within the Strength & Conditioning department, assisting with training and coverage across multiple Olympic sport teams as needed.
- Assist with daily warm-up, cool-down, and recovery protocols for practices, training sessions, and competitions.
- Assist in instructing, educating, and supervising student-athletes regarding proper lifting techniques and safe execution of prescribed training plans.
- Enforce weight room rules and safety standards, and assist with the maintenance and general operation of athletic training facilities.
- Collaborate with the athletic training and sports medicine staff to support return-to-play protocols and contribute to injury rehabilitation and prevention strategies.
- Assist in monitoring and documenting student-athlete progress using appropriate performance metrics and recordkeeping systems.
- Maintain consistent communication with sport coaches, athletic trainers, and other performance staff to support holistic student-athlete development.
- Contribute to the development, review, and enforcement of strength and conditioning policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior strength and conditioning experience at the collegiate or professional level.
- Knowledge of NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
- Possession of one of the following nationally recognized certifications:
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS – NSCA), or
- Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC – CSCCa)
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications, or the ability to obtain upon hire.
- Proficiency in demonstrating and instructing proper lifting and movement techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
