Protos Security is the largest technology-enabled security officer management company in the U.S.  In addition to providing our clients with industry leading security management software, Protos offers security guarding services via a national network of 4,000 vetted and managed, local security vendors.  

 

We are currently looking to hire a Vendor Relations Manager (“VRM”) to work in-person, full-time, at our Norwalk, CT, headquarters.  As a member of the VRM team, you will manage the strategic relationship for an assigned book of vendors within your portfolio; executing day to day activities that support and improve vendor performance and ensure overall vendor engagement.  If you are someone who thrives in a team environment, enjoys developing lasting relationships, values customer satisfaction, and wants to be a strategic partner in the growth of an industry-leading service organization working each day to keep people safe, read on!  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for vendors within your geographically assigned portfolio
  • Build multiple relationships within vendor companies including owners, executives, decision makers, operators, and security supervisors
  • Leverage your understanding of vendor service offerings, vertical specialization, price levels, and other company attribute data to ensure the best vendor to client match; requesting pricing quotes when required 
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate vendor needs on an ongoing basis; communicating those needs internally, and developing plans designed to deliver results 
  • Develop regular reporting and feedback to maximize vendor engagement through quarterly business reviews and KPI discussions
  • Maintain vendor and contact profile data within Salesforce; documenting all interactions in real time 
  • Act as an interdepartmental liaison, sharing relevant vendor information with Protos’ operations, compliance, quality assurance, corporate development, sales, and strategic accounts departments
  • Be a team player, sharing best practices and lessons learned with other members of the VRM team to ensure a level of consistency across all geographic vendor portfolios  
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, representing Protos in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Perform additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary to achieve assigned business objectives 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Account management experience is a major plus  
  • 2+ years of experience overseeing an assigned book of business within a service environment preferred; similar experience within procurement, sales, or a similar role - responding to client needs in a service industry - may be considered
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable operating in a metric driven environment without losing sight of the big picture; capable of managing and processing inputs from multiple data sources
  • Thinks critically and anticipates, recognizes, identifies, and develops solutions to problems quickly
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Customer service mindset; applied to both internal and external partners 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong computer skills (including MS Office, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint)
  • CRM experience; specifically an above average understanding of Salesforce 
  • Experience in the security guarding industry is a strong plus 

Additional Information

  • Travel - up to 15%; candidate must be available to support all U.S. time zones
  • Position is full-time, exempt
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience
  • Relocation is not available; candidates must live within an acceptable commuting distance to Norwalk, CT
