JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated NOC Manager to lead our 24/7 Network Operations Center. This position is responsible for managing NOC personnel, ensuring continuous uptime of network systems, monitoring infrastructure health, delivering incident response/service restoration, and improvement of NOC systems. You will play a key role in maintaining high availability, performance, and reliability for mission-critical systems and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage NOC operations for Wire 3 Network and IT systems.
- Oversee network/system monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, Datadog, etc.) along with their integrations and improvements.
- Further the development and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and escalation protocols.
- Coordinate real-time responses to service outages, performance degradation, and alerts.
- Assist and support Wire 3 Network and IT Department projects.
- Analyze recurring incidents and identify root causes; drive corrective action plans.
- Provide regular reporting on system health, incident metrics, and NOC performance.
- Assist and support Wire 3 OSP, CSR departments throughout incident life cycles.
- Schedule and manage NOC staff shifts, including on-call rotations and training (pending further growth).
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- The ability and willingness to learn on the job.
- Strong knowledge of networking technology stack (Core, DC, Distribution, and Wireless).
- High level general computer literacy.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, prioritization, and incident coordination skills.
- Solid interpersonal communication skills and the ability to lead under pressure.
- Ability for self-management and working flexible hours.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's degree or equivalent (Trade and/or Technical school program completion)
- Desired but not essential education level: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in 24/7 network operations, infrastructure monitoring, or IT support.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Exposed to data center environments
- Will require availability to travel, and flexible work hours may include evening and weekends
- Active and clean driver's license
