- Serves as the Community School Resource Coordinator between SGA, school and community.
- Plans and manages out-of-school time activities with parents and school input.
- Maintains communication and serves as a liaison between the agency, school and community, including attendance at community meetings.
- Meets grant expectations as established by CPS and the agency.
- Implements strategies to strengthen the relationship between the school, family, and community.
- Develops, maintains, and publicizes a schedule of programs and activities offered through the Community School Initiative
- Assess and identifies additional community resources, make appropriate referrals and linkages for families and students, and facilitate ongoing communication between service providers, teachers, parents, and students.
- Coordinates classroom workshops, teacher/parent/community training.
- Manages all agency expectations for reporting, data, and other documentation on a timely basis for programs.
- Provides support and consultation to community-based organizations
- Maintains accurate records; evaluate and make recommendations of programs
- Accept the role and responsibilities of serving as an agent of change within the school and community
- Engages, coordinates and supports school leadership and staff, parents and community members, and students and other providers to create a safe and healthy learning environment where students learn, grow, and succeed.
- Recruits, interviews, hires and monitors individuals and organizations that offer programs and services at the school to meet the needs of school staff, students, families, and community members.
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in negotiating with vendors, managing program budgets in collaboration with the agency and school, purchasing of goods, and ensuring the payment of personnel and vendors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
- High School Diploma
Experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years experience working with children and/or adults in a nonprofit social service or community development organization.
- Experience working in and with Chicago Public Schools.
Other:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to develop community partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities, maintain accurate records and prepare reports in a professional and timely fashion.
- Desired: knowledge and experience of working with Chicago Public Schools
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required. Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse families, various professionals and community groups.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment in executing tasks.
- Able to work with families and school community.
- Full attendance and participation in supervision and all scheduled training.
- Current or former resident of the Auburn Gresham neighborhood preferred.
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Competent in Microsoft Office tools and inputting services in an online database.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance and access to a car.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.
- Must be able to frequently move inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Must be able to transport oneself to and from home visits.
- Occasionally ascends/descends stairs.
- Constantly moves to assist during program activities.
- Frequently moves desks, chairs, tables and easels.
- At times may be required to lift up to 25 lbs. for various classrooms and events needs.
- Frequently moves in outdoor weather conditions
