This is a remote position.  Candidates must reside in one of these U.S. states: WA, OR, ID, CA, AZ, CO, TX, IL, IN, WI, TN, MA, MD, VA, NC, AL, GA, FL (some restrictions within WA and CA).

What You’ll Do: 

  • Coaches, mentors, and trains direct report staff. Provides continuous performance management and conducts employee performance evaluations. Addresses performance and/or behavior issues, clarifying expectations and providing feedback.
  • Supports staff growth and development. Assesses the educational and experience needs of all levels of staff in collaboration with the individual. Encourages staff to seek educational opportunities incorporating job related training in addition to mandatory training.
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of staff. Provides orientation to outline job requirements and expectations, policies and procedures, and proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Manages caseloads for the team and assigns cases to staff based on client needs and staff expertise, skills, and experience.
  • Provides oversight for ongoing client care and services. Reviews and monitors staff’s clinical records and productivity, and reviews counseling skills through chart review, direct observation, video, customer satisfaction surveys, and supervisory sessions. Plans and facilitates weekly staff training.
  • Provides guidance and consultation for staff regarding difficult family situations and provides system partner communication suggestions.
  • Implements and maintains the wrap-around concept of team based, collaborative, and coordinated services for clients.
  • Ensures all services are being documented in the EMR (Electronic Medical Record). Ensures billing coding and service reporting are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
  • Trains staff on workflows, required documentation, assessment tools, and phases of the program.
  • Completes screenings and assessments for clients and determines program eligibility. Coordinates referral of services for clients who have service needs outside of the program.
  • Carries a small caseload, as assigned.
  • Responds to crisis situations, assessing patient’s needs and obtaining appropriate services.
  • Collaborates with DSHS and schools to coordinate the mental health needs of patients.
  • Serves as a liaison to numerous community agencies and organizations, including school districts, hospitals, law enforcement, DCFS staff, and tribal authorities.
  • Performs clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and YVFWC requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health, Social Work, or Counseling or related field. Associate’s Degree and two additional years of experience working in a mental health, social work, counseling, or related field may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree. High School Diploma or GED and four additional years of experience working in a mental health, social work, counseling, or related field may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree. 
  • Master’s Degree in Mental Health, Social Work, or Counseling or related field is preferred. 
  • Two years’ direct service experience working in a behavioral health field. One year of supervisory experience is preferred. 
  • Registered, Certified, or Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor or (starting January 2026) for supervision of Peer Counselors: Certified Peer Specialist and qualify for Peer Specialist Supervisor Candidate, or full qualification for Approved Supervisor for Peer Trainee requirements. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire.
  • Valid Driver’s License and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage.
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of the most current DSM. Knowledge of therapeutic approaches to chemical abuse. Knowledge of RCWs and WACs as related to the provision of services. Knowledge of culturally relevant resources available including services for monolingual, non- English-speaking consumers, and Native American consumers. Knowledge of child placement system. Ability to conduct functional assessments. Ability to work with patients with complex or multiple diagnoses. Effective verbal, written, and active listening communication skills. Effective presentation and facilitation skills with groups of all sizes. Ability to convey complex details in a simplified manner.
