Position Description

Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Manage all aspects of fleet monitoring and reporting. Monitor and prepare reports to ensure fleet operations are following local and state rules and regulations.
  • Assist in planning of annual budget, expenditures and analyze all financial objectives associated with Fleet Management & OPVR garage.
  • Perform vehicle registration, insurance, fleet formalities, and documentation regarding induction of new vehicles in existing fleet.
  • Oversee the operation, development, performance, and conduct of employees working in Fleet Management and OPVR Garage.
  • Ensure all duties are performed in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with established Environmental Health & Safety, and departmental policies and procedures using Proper Protective equipment.
  • Directly supervise Vehicle Fleet Garage in daily work tasks and ensure all personnel utilize correct methods and procedures in all areas of projects.
  • Oversee the rental fleet for the department to include renting the vehicles to University departments and ensuring vehicles are well maintained. Billing each department for usage when vehicles are returned.
