STUDENT ASSISTANT EMPLOYEE JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Intramural Sports & Day Camp Coordinator, the Student Clerical Assistant I is responsible for performing a variety of general office duties to support the operations and personnel of Student Recreation Center (SRC) Intramurals, including organizing and maintaining records and providing administrative assistance.
JOB DUTIES:
· Uses SRC software programs, such as Fusion and Fusion Play, to perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to updating participant information, entering final contest scores, recording sportsmanship ratings, and documenting technical or ejection summaries
· Facilitates participant check-ins and issues necessary equipment for contest participation
· Assists the Student Intramural Officials and Student Intramural Leads with scorekeeping during contests
· Carries out key holder responsibilities for SRC Intramurals, including managing access to the game site areas, storage facility, SRC Intramurals office, and SRC laundry room
· Cleans, folds, and stores SRC Intramurals jerseys and uniforms
· Assists in scheduling and coordinating calendars for SRC Intramurals events
· Maintains the SRC Intramurals department files
· Assists with purchasing, logging, receiving, and storing office supplies and organizes backup documentation for purchases
· Performs general office duties, including but not limited to greeting visitors, answering phones, developing and maintaining office systems, tracking information and data, typing correspondence, photocopying, scanning, filing, and other related tasks
· Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
· Must be a currently enrolled CSUN student
EXPERIENCE
· No previous experience and/or specialized education required
· American Red Cross or department approved First Aid, CPR, and AED certification shall be obtained within 30 days. Training is periodically offered free of charge by the USU. Applicants unable to attend USU-sponsored training are required to obtain certification at their own expense
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Must be able to attend mandatory in-person SRC and USU employee orientation and trainings
· Must be able to attend monthly mandatory in-person staff meetings

SUPERVISION:
Supervision is provided by the Intramural Sports & Day Camp Coordinator
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is primarily performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Work is occasionally performed outdoors, in different climactic conditions. Daily contact with members of the campus community, including students, faculty, staff, administrators and guests, is required. In addition to regularly assigned work schedule, must possess an ability and willingness to work weekends, evenings, holidays, finals weeks, and during academic interim and break periods; must be flexible, adaptable, and readily able to adjust to changes in work environment.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of Student Clerical Assistant I.
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will be required to sit, stand, and walk for a vast majority of all work shifts; talk and hear; be able to detect smoke, heat and subtle smells. Must be able to independently move and/or lift equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required and includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
