Hybrid Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist bei Landmark Hospitals

Join our Accounting Center of Excellence in Baton Rouge, LA as an AP Specialist.

Landmark Hospitals is seeking an individual to join our growing Finance and Accounting Team.  The AP Specialist will join a supportive team of experienced and dedicated finance professionals.  The accounting team supports our hospitals by ensuring accurate accounting transactions, providing operational analysis and insights to drive the business forward, and operating more efficiently.  Our ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience with the Accounts Payable function and understands the importance of accuracy and timely processing in AP.  Healthcare accounting experience is a plus, but we will provide training in industry-specific aspects as needed.

Accounts Payable Specialist (AP Specialist) Summary:  Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of facility invoices, patient refunds, and vendor credits.  Provides accurate expense and accrual reports to hospital leadership and the accounting department.

Work Environment: Office-based (on Bluebonnet Blvd, near I-10 .. this is not a remote work role), Weekdays with an average of 8 hours a day, flexible schedule between 7 am - 6 pm.  Supportive team!

 Key Responsibilities:  

• Processes invoices after validation (compares to requisitions, service agreements, shipping, etc.); resolves issues
• Assigns GL account codes and corrects entries as needed
• Processes payments
• Reviews aged invoices and resolves issues
• Maintains vendor files and responds to vendor inquiries
• Works on detailed AP reports
• Manages accruals and monthly payments

Educational, Experience, and Skill Requirements for AP Specialist:

• 1 or more years of accounts payable experience
• Prefer candidates with 2-3 years at a hospital, medical office or healthcare setting
• Knowledge of general accounting principles
• Accuracy in data entry, billing systems, spreadsheets, and financial systems
• Ability to work independently in an environment with repetitive tasks
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
• Team player and collaboration skills
