Job Title: Tooling Fabricator
SUMMARY:
Fabricates, modifies, and repairs electroplating racking and tooling. Build parts for special projects and parts supporting the maintenance team.
WAGE TYPE: Hourly
FLSA Exemption: Non-exempt Exemption

- Performs preventative maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of fabrication racking and tooling.
- Set up, configure and operate shop tooling, including the mill and lathe.
- Weld a variety of metals and plastics.
- Coordinate jobs with team leaders and operations leaders.
- Order and inventory standard tooling materials and special order items.
- Engineer, fabricate, and implement new ideas, prototype parts, and tooling for new customers.
- Ability to de-burrs or polish parts by use of grinder or buffer as needed.
- Assures smooth transition to production by working with appropriate lines and auditing.
- Helps troubleshoot quality and process problems.
- Reengineering fabrication tooling to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Handles “Special” requests for internal and external customers.
- Could potentially handle hazardous waste in containerizing, transporting, testing, or other assigned duties.
- Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
- Reports to: Operations Manager
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education:
- Preferred: Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology, Welding Technology, or Electromechanical Technology OR
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or machine tool technology
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude and good visualization skills.
- Education and/or experience using a lathe, mill and drill press.
- Education and/or experience with TIG, MIG, and SMAC welding
- Must be able to read technical manuals, blueprints and various maintenance documents
Communication Skills:
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
- Must be able to communicate with other people regarding troubleshooting and repairs.
- Must be able to use a computer to access data on work orders, inventory, and communicate with email.
Other Skills:
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Must be able to manage frequent interruptions from normal routine
