Job Title: Administrative Assistance (with Training for Hospice and Home Health Intake and Scheduling)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Administrative Assistant who shares these values. This role begins as a part-time position and offers the opportunity to grow into a full-time Intake Coordinator and/or Scheduler for both hospice and home health services as our programs expand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general administrative support to the hospice and home health office.
- Answer and direct incoming calls, take accurate messages, and route inquiries appropriately.
- Assist with the intake process, including gathering referral information, verifying insurance, and entering patient data into the EMR system.
- Support the scheduling of patient visits for hospice and home health services, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain and update electronic and paper records in compliance with HIPAA and agency standards.
- Communicate with clinical staff, patients, families, and referral sources in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Assist with preparing reports, correspondence, and documentation as needed.
- Learn and follow agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for both hospice and home health operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the office.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional administrative or healthcare-related coursework preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience; prior healthcare or medical office experience is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn EMR systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and professional demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and staff.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities as the role evolves.
