Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing active oversight of a team that analyzes and resolves customer trade receivable issues by leveraging data, business knowledge and relationships to support the overall objectives of the Corporate Finance department.       

Position Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes assigned portfolio of customer accounts to prioritize and determine the most effective approach for utilizing resources to accomplish department objectives
  • Assists the team in maintaining customer accounts and executing collection activities; serves as a resource to resolve customer issues
  • Monitors, maintains and performs collection activities on assigned accounts
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with customers and Company employees to timely identify, communicate and resolve customer issues and other discrepancies
  • Communicates timely with appropriate levels of management to address potential customer issues and identifies accounts that may require heightened attention
  • Organizes and participates in customer meetings
  • Monitors and reports established metrics; assists the team in meeting department objectives by proactively adjusting approach to achieve desired outcomes
  • Utilizes and analyzes data to identify trends, issues, irregularities and risks in individual customer accounts and assigned portfolio
  • Identifies and participates in implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Provides direction, supervision and training of direct reports. Establishes performance expectations, provides coaching and feedback, evaluates performance and recommends corrective action.
  • Other duties, as assigned

Position Requirements

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 5 years of experience in a corporate environment

Preferred:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in business (accounting, finance, business administration, etc.)
  • At least 8 years of experience in a corporate environment
  • NACM (National Association of Credit Management) accreditation, such as, CCRA (Certified Credit and Risk Analyst) or CBA (Certified Business Associate)
  • Experience with data manipulation/analytics tools and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Supervisory experience

  • Solid understanding of business processes and workflows.

Other Requirements of Position

  • Works under general supervision. Employee acts independently to handle standard problems but usually report on such problems.  More unusual problems are referred to a supervisor/manager.
  • Major responsibilities typically require a modest amount of creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates under general instructions with some established procedures and policies.
  • Frequently communicates with customers and coworkers. Occasionally communicates with management.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies to avoid waste, damage to areas and equipment, and to prevent accidents.
