Position Summary 

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, Operations Supervisor will provide assistance, oversight and knowledge to assigned staff to perform various warehouse functions. Responsible for accurate and timely processing of counts, picks, putaway, receipts and shipments, while motivating warehouse staff for the 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise and assist Operations Manager with the day-to-day warehouse operations
  • Responsible for hiring personnel and training them to ensure they understand procedures, policies, work instructions and maintain safety standards.
  • Oversee daily workload and transactions, but not limited to releasing, counting, picking, shipping, kitting, packaging, gang channel, receiving, etc.
  • Run daily and/or weekly reports, but not limited to cycle counts, packaging, receipts, sales orders, putaways, kitting, gang channel, visual inspection, shipping, etc.
  • Ensuring accurate inventory records, performing stock counts and identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Monitor priority and aged transactions, travelers and open orders on a daily basis
  • Efficient and effective communication with sales team, quality and other departments to expedite, inform or resolve issues.
  • Planning and executing shipping routes, coordinating with suppliers and carriers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Ensuring accurate shipping records, certs records or any other documents are filed and stored correctly.
  • Utilize customer or 3rd party websites and or portals to perform shipments as needed.
  • Document and communicate employee productivity and deficiencies, working together with the Operation Manager, upper management and HR as necessary.
  • Prepare and complete annual employee evaluations
  • Ensure department is clean, organized and equipment is utilized and stored properly.
  • Ensure staff members follow company and department policies and procedures
  • Identify areas of improvement and help develop solutions to implement working together with the Operations Manager.
  • Recognize conflict with personnel and escalate issues appropriately. Assist in seeking solutions

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4-6 years of warehouse experience
  • Previous Leadership experience
  • Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient in using WMS systems for tracking of inventory, order picking, packing, receipts and shipping
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook and email etiquette.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to continue to learn and develop leadership skills
  • Ability to work overtime, as required
  • Able to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively
  • Ability and willingness to train and mentor warehouse associates.
  • Excellent record keeping, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attendance record 
  • Self-motivated, analytical, detailed-orientated and thorough
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds 
  • Forklift certified and clean driving record required

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. 


Requirements

Background Experience and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college preferred
  • Safety certifications or skills a plus
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Counting scale experience
  • Packaging experience
  • Fork Lift certification 
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Capability to lift, pull, push or move 50 lbs
  • Basic math and arithmetic skills
