We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Senior Product Manager. This position reports to VP GM Marine MPS and will work in Stuart, FL.

About the position

As Senior Product Manager of the Stuart team, you will work closely to increase the Dometic success within our existing product lines. The spectrum of tasks for this position ranges from innovative product innovations to optimizing the efficiency of existing products. In this role you will be driving our Mobile Power Solutions (MPS) portfolio and roadmaps while working closely with the sales team supporting existing MPS solutions.

General Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning and management of the entire product portfolio for Marine MPS
  • Create and present visionary innovations and strategic decision proposals, as well as the calculation of business cases
  • Responsible for strategic partnerships and lead necessary contract negotiation
  • Definition, monitoring of the company relevant KPIs and control of the measures to achieve the objectives set
  • Ensure product competitiveness, manage complexity by ensuring right strategic pricing between SKUs (Stock Keeping Units), manage product life cycle, proposes end-of-life, and drive modularization within Marine MPS
  • Manage product development prioritization based on input from the market, develop end-to-end product business plan and identify needs for investment to ensure right products are built right
  • Overseeing the innovation and improvement of the business’s product as well as the day-to-day product activities in such a way that ensures that the product is constantly growing to suit the consumers’ needs
  • Make sure product gaps are identified and filled and innovative ideas are generated that grow market share
  • Conduct margin analysis, industry/market research, and in-life performance measurement to determine product demand, positioning, viability, and profitability.
  • Drive product launch priorities including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
  • Pre-empt potential problems and provide effective solutions in reaction to the application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes developed to support the new product or product change
  • Manage talent and provide technical direction and guidance. Lead, mentor and develop direct reports for Product Management Stuart.

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within engineering and product management as well as the following qualifications and experiences: 

 

  • Degree from an accredited college/university, Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred, MBA
  • Proven minimum 5 years work experience in product management, in the Marine industry is preferrable
  • Strong technical knowledge of power systems and hardware development
  • Proficient at merchandizing and promoting products to target markets
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Proven track record of working with designers, engineers, and various stakeholders to coordinate, plan, execute, and track product releases from beginning to end
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience
  • Strong analytical skills to develop market forecasts and summarize data for broader audiences
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite and the ability to learn other applications quickly

  • Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint; and the ability to learn other applications quickly
  • Excellent customer service, management skills and experience
  • Proficient at merchandizing and promoting products to target markets
  • Able to analyze target markets and develop forecasts based on this data
  • Summarize data for a broader audience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
