Seeking an HSE Professional who aspires to become an active employee in a dynamic and well-established company. Given the nature and scope of our growing projects, we are looking for someone whose health and safety is a priority and for whom it is an integral part of their life. Reporting into the HSE team, and directly to the Regional HSE Manager – US Central, the candidate will be working with the group's professionals, where they will be able to constantly improve the team’s health and safety culture. Through their behaviour and actions, they are expected to inspire the team and lead by example through a positive, collaborative, and constructive attitude. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with employees and managers to identify and eliminate risks and promote preventive actions and positive interactions
  • Support incident investigations, making yourself available to react quickly.       
  • Timely completion of reports within GHDs incident investigation system and provide reports as required to clients.
  • Implement and monitor occupational health and safety programs, procedures, and key tools to support all Business Groups and project teams
  • Ensure compliance with GHD's HSE programs and jurisdictional requirements in the region.
  • Assist as needed in the supplier prequalification process, and monitoring of the supplier performance
  • Assist with the review (and at times development) of the group’s project specific health and safety plans as per GHDs program.
  • Provide guidance in the safe analysis of tasks, audits, and incident investigations
  • Identify existing or potential risks, suggest elimination or mitigation strategies, implement preventive and corrective actions, and follow up:
  • Coordinate the collection of HSE performance measures, identify gaps, and prepare appropriate reports and safety shares within the assigned groups
  • Support the inspection and inventory program of personal protective equipment within the group
  • Regularly visit the region’s offices and project sites to identify gaps in the group’s HSE performance.
  • Actively participate in the group's project team meetings and attend project kick off meetings where required

Qualifications/Exigences

  • Undergraduate degree in science, industrial relations, or any other field related to the job or relevant experience
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • 10 years of experience in health and safety, construction, environment, and/or consulting field safety
  • Experience in the implementation of HSE programs
  • Experience in risk analysis and investigation of health, safety, and environmental incidents
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of occupational health and safety laws and regulations relevant to the company's field of activity.
  • Prominent level of self-initiative, versatility, high degree of autonomy and sharp professional judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to act with discretion, transparency, courtesy and confidentiality in the files entrusted to him/her.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams)
  • Required to have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Must be available to travel within the region 30% of the time.
