The Relocation Specialist serve as a liaison between CHA's contracted moving vendors, residents, development leadership and the community at large. The Relocation Specialist monitors each move on-site from beginning to end to ensure that the process is being conducted in accordance with CHA's moving vendor contract, Resident Services' Moving Policy, Relocation Rights Contract (RRC), and Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend meetings as directed by Manager that may require move services (e.g. meetings with property management, provider, clients/participants).
  • Works collaboratively with Asset Management, Capital Construction, HCV, service providers, resident leadership, and Property Management companies.
  • Monitor relocation procedures to ensure compliance with established policies (e.g. Relocation Rights Contract, ACOP).
  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate tracking of all relocation move-out and move-in activity occurs including, but not limited to: notices, moves, resolving any applicable resident damage claims.
  • Responds to general inquiries about CHA's moving process (e.g. phone calls, emails).
  • Staff must report to the Manager any issues or concerns that occurs during the move, (e.g. disagreements, arguments, insufficient moving personnel on-site).
  • Regularly identifies program issues and makes recommendations to the  Relocation Manager.
  • Review assigned caseload as directed by the Manager and contact client accordingly (e.g. telephone, home visits, email).
  • Physically be present at the specific address of each client's move from beginning to the completion of the move to ensure that moving personnel performs services in accordance with contract obligations. (e.g. introduce self as the point person overseeing the move, their contact for utility reimbursements, damage claims, as well as address any issues or concerns that may arise from the client, moving vendor, or others to ensure a smooth and successful move.)
  • Document move file folder with move notes during initial contact with client as well as throughout the entire move process.
  • Conduct and complete a mandatory pre-move form for each move which shall be submitted to the Manager for review, approval, and scheduling.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Responds to change in a positive manner.
  • This position occasionally requires working hours outside of CHA's established hours of 8a-5p Monday-Friday.
  • Performs all other duties and projects as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration or related field plus project management or other related experience or a combination of education and experience. The position requires familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Power Point and Excel) and the ability to work extensively with CHA databases (e.g., Salesforce, Yardi, and HOP). Requires work in the field with external partners and residents; a valid Driver's License is required. Must possess good verbal and written skills, excellent interpersonal communication, and customer relation skills, be energetic, focused, and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Bilingual is a plus.
