Overview

The Veterinary Practice Information System Management (PIMS) specialist is responsible for the oversight and management of the Provet Cloud PIMS software across AmeriVet’s Veterinary Hospitals. This role ensures the efficient operation, security, and integrity of the practice's information systems while providing support to staff in utilizing this system. Additionally, the PIMS specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the deployment and adoption of Provet Cloud at the hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be highly proficient in the usage and functionality of the Provet Cloud PIMS platform and in Veterinarian Clinic/Practice processes.
  • Manage relationships with Amerivet PIMS-related technology partners.
  • Lead, motivate and coach rollout teams, ensuring changes/implementations are smooth and successful
  • System Management: Maintain and manage the practice management software.
  • Technical Support: Be fully capable of providing technical support and training to staff on the use of PIMS, ensuring they are equipped to use the systems effectively.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with IT professionals to integrate new systems and ensure seamless operation with existing systems.
  • Leading the Implementation of Provet Cloud: Oversee the deployment and successful adoption of Provet Cloud at the hospitals.
  • Data Migration: Facilitate the migration of data from existing PIMS to ensure a smooth transition to Provet Cloud.
  • Transition Preparation: Prepare hospitals for the transition by handling scheduling and labor-related aspects.
  • Training: Be capable of coordinating and supporting comprehensive training to hospital staff on the new system.
  • Support: Offer ongoing support to ensure the continued efficient use of Provet Cloud.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with Provet Cloud to address any issues, updates, or upgrades needed for the practice's information systems.
  • Produce user requirements for application features and functionality.
  • Generate user acceptance plans for App Deployments.
  • Capable to diagram and document application interactions and, process and data flows.
  • Provide guidance on measuring App performance and optimizations.
  • Solid knowledge of Enterprise/Cloud App release management processes
  • Post implementation review and feedback

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in PIMS management, preferably within a veterinary setting.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and support staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing projects, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Clinical Background: A background in clinical settings is preferred.
  • PIMS: Experience with Practice Information System Management software.
  • Understanding of key technology concepts such as:
    • Cloud App Architecture
    • Application Integration Strategies
      • REST API’s        (HTTP methods, JSON, etc.)
      • Webhooks
      • RPA
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles.
  • Basic Knowledge of Relational and NonSQL Databases (ETL/ELT)
  • Automation scripting using Python or Low/No Code Solutions
  • InfoSec concepts related to App Development and Integration
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with staff and vendors.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/O365
  • Willingness to travel as required to different hospital locations.
  • Multi-tasker, someone who can manage their time well while managing multiple projects and initiatives
