Job Summary: This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) (NAVY MWR) Branch (JB92); Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services (N94); Commander, Navy Region Hawaii (CNRH); Honolulu, Hawaii. Incumbent serves as a (Bowling Center Manager) providing overall management, operational efficiency, program development, staff supervision, and customer service for bowling center facilites.
Major Duties:
- MAJOR DUTIES: Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for the effective and economical operation of a Bowling Center, which may include up to 20 lanes, a snack bar, pro shop, equipment maintenance and repair services, and other associated facilities. Implements higher-level directives, develop operating procedures, and creates programs to maintain high standards of recreation and customer service. Plans, promotes, and manages tournaments, matches, special events, and other bowling-related programs, Coordinates necessary resources for the procurement of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise. May oversee the pro shop operations and direct bowling instruction programs. Acts as a liaison with other staff, league officials, vendors, and marketing personnel to support Center operations, promote activities, and facilitate the purchase of bowling equipment and accessories. Handles internal and customer concerns to minimize negative impact on operations. Organizes and manages internal resources for maximum productivity and efficiency. Prepares and monitors financial plans, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related reports. Evaluates financial performance and recommends adjustments as needed. Supervises staff directly or through subordinate supervisors. Responsible for training, scheduling, performance appraisal, counseling, and recommending personnel actions. Manage property resources, provides input on renovations and improvements, and ensures the safeguarding of funds, merchandise, and equipment to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse. Monitors for alcohol abuse and take appropriate action as necessary.
Qualifications: Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. A qualified candidate must possess: - Knowledge of CNIC's organizational structure, functions, and mission. - Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Program (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). - Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. - Knowledge of recreational facility maintenance to ensure they meet program requirements. - General knowledge of budget preparation and accounting principles. - Knowledge of common business practices related to purchase, storage and inventory management of merchandise. - Skill in the effective management and use of financial, physical and human resources provided to support the Bowling Centers. **Position requires occasional standing, lifting (up to 50lbs), and minor physical labor in support of daily operations and facility maintenance. Work is performed in a normal office setting, but may also take place in a kitchen, outdoors, or in the pinsetter area behind the lanes.**
