We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist clients in the reporting and the strategic direction of multi-line insurance claims across all lines of business. This individual will work as an advocate on behalf of our clients, ensuring the smooth and proper resolution of claims. Proactive communication, ongoing interaction and in-person meetings will be critical to developing positive working relationships with clients and insurance carriers.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supporting clients in reporting and the strategic direction of multi-line insurance claims across all lines of business.
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation, including emails, loss summaries, and spreadsheets.
  • Monitoring and following up on claims to ensure a timely and proper resolution.
  • Organizing and leading claim review meetings and data analytics/benchmarking.
  • Advocating for clients throughout the claims process.
  • Analyzing insurance policies to interpret and explain coverage to clients.
  • Escalating significant matters (e.g., large losses, complex claims) to internal stakeholders.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, carriers, adjusters, and attorneys.
  • Investigating and evaluating claims to determine coverage, liability, and resolution strategy.
  • Negotiating settlements with insurers and third parties.
  • Providing clients with regular updates on claim status and developments.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Embracing continuous learning and professional development within the insurance industry.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing claims with either an insurance carrier or broker.
  • Experience in client consultation required.
  • Must possess a residence Property & Casualty license; industry certifications/designations preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computers (Agency Management System) and embrace technology.
  • Knowledge of the insurance claims mechanism and ability to apply policy coverage provisions to specific claims scenarios.
  • Ability to mentor associates.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.

This role is eligible for JKJ’s hybrid work schedule, which includes both in-office and remote work. Because regular in-person collaboration is important for this position, we’re currently only considering candidates who live within commuting distance of our office.
