Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
- Manages post award activities for COE and assigned auxiliary operations, and coordinates the execution of grant activities in compliance with award terms to ensure award deliverables are met.
- Assists in the administrative oversight of award budgets, record keeping, and report completion.
- Serves as a liaison between faculty, staff, grant stakeholders, and sponsors to advise on the preparation/submission of reports and data and review of documentation for compliance with University and award guidelines.
- Oversees assigned operating budgets and reviews expenditures for budgetary controls. Ensures proper documentation and approval are in place for all transactions in line with grant compliance.
- Fulfills purchasing requirements, enters information into university systems, receives purchase orders, and reconciles purchases. Reviews and monitors purchases to ensure compliance with grant regulations.
- Completes transfer requests, reconciles expenditure transactions, maintains internal accounting records, and other transactional duties related to award administration.
- Manages and monitors account balances and provides transactional maintenance of funds and accounts.
- Creates budget proposals and is responsible for forecasting and providing regular financial reports to ensure compliance with both grant and university regulations and guidelines.
- Analyzes spending and develops budget projections. Assists in the development of annual budget requests and allocations.
- Prepares routine and ad-hoc reports and statements. Provides clear data to track budget performance and ensure grant compliance.
- Oversees compliance and maintains documentation to ensure adherence to deadlines and requirements.
- Tracks and compiles research data to produce reports and document award progress.
- Ensures all processes remain compliant with institutional and governmental regulations.
- Researches and responds to questions regarding budget issues, resolving concerns and ensuring grant guidelines are followed.
- Collaborates with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to ensure compliance and adherence to policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
- This position requires either six years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher education.
- Experience working in post award administration and/or with sponsored programs.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and guidelines established by professional organizations and/or governing agencies.
- Knowledge of and ability to work with a comfort level with legal documents and budgets.
- Knowledge of post award and grant compliance.
- Knowledge of basic budgeting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of various funding agency rules and regulations as they pertain to grant/contract administration.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects when numerous and competing demands are involved.
- Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn new applications and systems.
- Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
- Ability to think critically and make clear, well-reasoned and timely decisions.
- Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
