Under the direction of the Information Team Lead, the Senior Data Analyst is accountable for evaluating and managing business data for use in decision making and organizational efficiency improvement initiatives. A demonstrated background in data analysis within product/service delivery is essential. The Senior Data Analyst collaborates in a fast-paced and agile environment with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, vendors, and Firm leadership to understand business needs, research, and evaluate data, and propose approaches to drive profitability and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced data analysis to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets, interpret data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and propose data-driven strategies to support business growth. Choose and utilize suitable data visualizations for clear and impactful data communication.
  • Collaborate closely with Practice stakeholders to understand business priorities, challenges, and opportunities, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Educate Practice stakeholders and advise on data-driven recommendations and insights, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to make informed choices that drive profitability and productivity.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to integrate data from various sources and functional areas to create a unified, accurate data repository, while also implementing data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure data accuracy.
  • Interpret data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, suggesting areas for process improvement and/or improving data quality.
  • Stay informed about product and service delivery trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis, while sharing knowledge and insights with colleagues to promote continuous improvement.
  • May provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior data analysts or team members as needed to support their professional development (if applicable).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics) required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a data analyst in a corporate or consulting environment, with a minimum of 10+ years of job-related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft T-SQL, SSAS, DAX, Power BI, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Azure DevOps
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders. Comfortable working from a remote environment.
  • Experience participating in data governance and data management best practices is a plus.
  • Vendor management experience

Wipfli supports equal pay for equal work and values each candidate’s unique experiences and skill sets. The estimated pay range for this position is: $97,000 to $130,000. Compensation within the range is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, individuals' skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business needs and applicable employment laws.
